During the last 100 years, United States Presidents have made important decisions in an effort to solve crucial problems.


How have those decisions affected everyday people?
Objective: Create a 30 - 60 second Breaking News Podcast Showcasing 1 Social Condition of the Great Depression, and how a Presidential Decision of either FDR or Hoover affected everyday people.
1.) Select a Social Condition of the Great Depression
  • Unemployment
  • Farmers loose their Farms
  • Homelessness
  • Great Depression Affects Family Life
  • Minorities Suffer Hardships

2.) Select a Presidential Decision made by your that tried to help your social condition.
3.) Research your Social Condition and Presidential Decision! Complete the Breaking News Research worksheet for your selected Social Condition and Presidential Decision.
5.) Now start to put it all together! Construct a Breaking News script that explains your social condition and the presidential decision that help or hindered it.
6.) Record your podcast. Using your Breaking news script, record yourself in class! Be sure to include historically accurate information, characteristics of Breaking news, and creativity!!
